What are the elements of a good video game?

Technically, we can not make such a list because someone crazy enough can always make a video game with opposing ideas and gain a devoted following.

Games Strategy

To begin, some elements that work well in one genre may not work well in another.

For example, do the terms "clear interface," "easy controls," and "accessibility" sound reasonable? Take a look at Dwarf Fortress - the game's controls are terrible, and the interface is a jumble of... things. Too complicated for me (I tried several times but gave up quickly), but you can easily find groups of DF fans! In terms of controls, this is similar to simulator fans who want "real experience," not "easy gameplay." Another example: QWOP is legendary for having bad controls, which is the entire point of this game. People also liked QWOP as a challenge and meme. Or some extremely specialized strategies, such as Supreme Ruler or any Paradox's game.

So, only technical elements remain: the game should not randomly crash, the framerate should be reasonably stable, game triggers (such as "press button-door opens") should work every time, dialogues should be synchronized with the scene, saves should not be randomly deleted...

However, some good games are enjoyable despite technical difficulties.
