Multiple GTA 6 Protagonists Would Ruin Its Story

 Grand Theft Auto 6 has a lot of potentials, but it needs a single protagonist to tie it all together and avoid the pitfalls of GTA 5.


Rockstar Games has revealed GTA 6, a new entry in the beloved Grand Theft Auto series, after nine long years, but it must avoid making the same mistakes as GTA 5 if it is to be the best game it can be. GTA 5 featured three different protagonists, and while some games benefit from having many protagonists, GTA is not one of them. Having a single protagonist who lasts the entire game is perhaps the greatest option, and it would enable GTA 6 to surpass its predecessor.
Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Phillips are three different protagonists in GTA 5. The three find themselves deep in the criminal underbelly of Los Santos and must pull off a series of heists to stay alive. Each one can be played, and each one has its own backstory and story to tell. Although some argue that San Andreas is the best GTA game, GTA 5 does have some redeeming features. Michael is a retired bank robber, Franklin is a small-time crook attempting to take his place in the world, and Trevor is a violent psychopath operating out of a trailer park. Over the course of the novel, they all find themselves working together, albeit reluctantly.
The various protagonists in GTA 5 muddied the tale and made it too confusing, something GTA 6 should avoid. GTA 6 Needs To Avoid GTA 5'S Mistakes

GTA 6 Needs To Learn From Red Dead Redemption



Red Dead Redemption is an excellent illustration of how having a single protagonist will improve GTA 6. Despite the fact that there are many protagonists, each is given their own game, with John Marston getting RDR1 and Arthur Morgan getting RDR2. The story modes are much better, as they demonstrate how John and Arthur change and grow as people during their games. To create a singular GTA 6 protagonist who would stand above those that came before them, Grand Theft Auto should borrow components from RDR.
